Catherine's Dantewada experience

When Catherine Utting a student of University College Falmouth, United Kingdom contacted us for voluntering for 2 months we never expected she would Uttaran - Dantewada for her placement. Despite apprehensions from many corners she stood by her decision to work for the project. Catherine worked with the children of Dantewada for 6 weeks during this summer. She has sent this report after going back to her country:

Since last year we have started give an award to the best performing teacher from Tf Mother Project. Last year Ms. Jaya Majumdar was the recipient of this award. This year Ms. Soma Chakraborty has been selected as the 'best performing teacher'.

ERAI India and French Embassy raised over 6500 € for TF

ERAI India and French Embassy organized a charity programme on May 8th in New Delhi, to support the development of an exchange program initiated between young Indians, and their counterparts of Sport dans la Ville in Lyon. 24 corporate houses from Delhi partcipated in a 5 side football tournament and thereby contributed for the cause.

TF child Arnab now is now a TCS man

Three years back our president Mrs.Ranju Ghosh spotted an appeal in ETV news channel. The appeal was from a distressed father, himself a polio victim, asking for educational support for his son Arnab Ghosh. Arnab, hailing from a remote area in Jhargram of Paschim medinipur, was in sheer dilemma because he had cleared the Joint Entrance Examination but had no means to go ahead.

TF personnel in a very short time collected Arnab’s residential address contacting ETV Hyderbad head office and the family was contacted.

In March, 2010 a group of 12 volunteers from 3 Suisses helped the children of Tomorrow's Foundation by renovating 3 centres which are used to run bridge courses for out-of-school children under our Community Based Education Project (CBEP).

TF - Sport dans la Ville Sports Exchange Programme

Tomorrow's Foundation collaborated with Sport dans la Ville, France to conduct a 7 day long sports exchange programme between deprived children of Kolkata and France. The children will practice football, play friendly matches, learn new skills and visit historical and important places.
