Aniket Bhagat: TF's Model School already changed his life

Aniket Bhagat, a student of TF's Model School, is a child with Down's syndrome. His father is an electrician and his family lives below the poverty level.
He lives with his three sisters among which one of them is the caregiver of Aniket due to his mental status. They reside in the Kalighat area living in a shabby slum. At the age of three, Aniket got admission in our school. At that time, he was mentally unstable, cranky, and unable to even communicate in regard to fulfilling his basic needs.
When we had a close look at the child, our intention and motive was to develop his social integration, enhance emotional bonding and develop his fine motor as well as his gross motor skills.
In order to make him feel secure and safe among his classmates, we allowed his sister to accompany him all the time as the caregiver.
Gradually as Aniket developed social and emotional bonding with his teacher and classmates, we asked his sister to stay and participate in several activities of the school but not to sit with him inside the class.
