Coordinator: Md. Nayeem

Supported By: Zila Panchayat - South Bastar (Dantewada) under Integrated Development Action Plan for LWE Districts.

Project Description:

The project is a residential one for both illiterate and semi literate youth. In the first year 197 young adults got training and job placement from this project. The project focuses on 3 trades a) electrician, b) plumber and c) welder. After successful completion of the training the willing trainees were placed in jobs.

This was a much needed project as the majority of the inhabitants of the district, the tribal people are living in poor conditions with little or no employment opportunities. There is a lack of economic activity. On the other hand there is high demand for electrcians, plumbers and welders as lots of construction works are going on in the targeted districts.

Acheivements:

  • 297 youths have been trained till date and 80% of them are placed in jobs or helped for self-employment.
  • During the training period the trainees got extensive practical exposure in live projects and learnt to work independently.
  • The trainees were provided regular sports and entertainment facilities.
