Mayor of Kolkata met TF Painters

Chalo jai rang-r deshe - yes, TF children lived a few colorful hours on 11th April. For them painting is a regular activity but it was a special occasion - they expected Hon. Mayor of Kolkata Shri Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya to see their talent - Mr. Bhattacharya did not disappoint them.

Amader Para (our locality) - students of class V to VII painting their locality - their surroundings. A total of 71 children, in three groups, took part in this painting competition. The smallest ones painted their house, the slightly older ones painted their surroundings and the oldest ones (class VIII to X) painted their environment.

The youngest but most attentive group of children - for some of them managing their sarees was more difficult than painting their houses.

Raju Nandy from the oldest group painting his environment - he got the first prize in his group.

Girls from class V to VII participating in the painting competition.

Eminent painter Shri Jahar Dashgupta as a judge. We are thankful to him for his valuable time for our children.

Hon. Mayor of Kolkata Shri Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya awarding Raju Das. Hon. Mayor took extra care to pat each one of them and encouraged them to do better in the future - within a short period of time Hon. Mayor could establish a special cord with our children.

The competition ended with a speech from Hon. Mayor. He gave a very specific message - the power of will can win anything in life. He promised better services from Kolkata Corporation for underprivileged children. We are grateful to him that he could take out time from his busy schedule to meet our children.

Why the viewers have been denied the visuals of the award winning paintings? Will be happy if the award winning paintings with name and age of the young artists are posted at website. Thanks.
